A List Of Some Of The Common Myths Associated With A Portable Home Air Purifier

Air pollution has become one of the biggest concerns all over the world. In India, major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru are always in the limelight for the bad quality of air that the citizens have to live in. Air pollution has (sadly) become a part of our lives. However, our homes are our sanctum sanctorum, the one place where are we are supposed to feel safe. The easiest way to ensure that the air we breathe at home is pure and healthy is to install a home air purifier. But there are a lot of myths associated with an air purifier, due to which people are at times reluctant to buy them. In this article, we will try to debunk the common myths related to a room air purifier.

  • An air purifier can easily replace a vacuum cleaner

An air purifier does exactly as the name suggests, it purifies the air, period. It is designed to control the allergens that are spread throughout the room through the air. Even the best air purifier is incapable of removing dust and dirt that gets accumulated on the surface. The carpets and furniture need to be vacuumed mandatorily. Don’t compromise on your hygiene thinking an air purifier will do it for you.

  • The air purifier also acts as a room freshener

This is one of the most commonly believed myths. Most people think that since it purifies the air, it also eliminates all the odors from the room. An air purifier can do nothing beyond ridding your air of allergens. So if your house smells of stale food and dirty laundry, it is your responsibility to get rid of the smelly things to eliminate the odor and not that of the air purifier.

  • Air-conditioned rooms do not require a home air purifier

This couldn’t be any farther from the truth. In reality, an air conditioner is only capable of regulating the temperature within the room. It does absolutely nothing to remove the pollutants from a room. Hence, to filter out and eliminate the pollutants, even an air-conditioned room needs an air purifier.

  • There is no point in buying the expensive models of air purifier

Air purifiers come in numerous capacities and qualities. You should buy a home air purifier depending upon your personal needs. The air purifier price depends on the features like filter quality, the ability to kill germs and bacteria in the air, and so on. Some purifiers are also known to kill TB bacteria and cost more than the other models. So the cost of an air purifier hinges on the functions you want it to perform.

Do your research before believing in these kinds of myths. Installing an air purifier is the easiest way to eliminate toxins and impurities from your home.
